Recycool heads to China?

12 Feb 2007

Story Picture Sarah Taylor from Minsthorpe Community College got in touch to tell us all about how they are using their Recycool cash. Sarah said "After reading the article by Jane Harvey of Lexden Springs School in your newsletter, I felt inspired to write an article about what Minsthorpe Community College, West Yorkshire, are intending to do with the money that they raise.

From 29th September until 7th October 2007, I will be trekking along part of the Great Wall of China to raise vital funds for the NSPCC. For my Great Wall of China Challenge to take place, I need to raise a minimum of £2500. Minsthorpe Community College have been recycling with Recycool for some time now and it was suggested by the ICT Manager that this scheme could be used to help raise the necessary funds. All students have been informed about Recycool and how they can help support the NSPCC by making donations of used printer cartridges, PDA’s and mobile phones. A link has also been added to the colleges web site so parents/guardians/students/staff can find out about Recycool and how this scheme will support my Great Wall Challenge. The response has been excellent so far and we are looking forward to the ongoing support of the college staff and students!

The scheme has really taken off in college and I am really proud of how supportive the staff and students have been so far. If you want to discuss the Recycool scheme in Minsthorpe Community College further or would like photographs, please do not hesitate to get in touch."

Good luck with that Sarah; to be honest I’m quite jealous! It’s great to hear that Recycool helps in so many ways.

Pictured to the right are some of the students who have been avidly collecting.
