Running Recycool

Recycool is the number one recycling and fundraising programme for schools in the UK. Money is donated to your school for every empty printer cartridge, reusable mobile phone and PDA recycled - so the more you can collect, the more you can raise! Over 5,000 schools across Britain take part in Recycool with more than £400,000 raised so far!

Our website has great advice on how your school can be more environmentally friendly and we have some great tips on how to maximise your Recycool campaign

what to do

With the Recycool programme, you'll realise how easy it is to recycle and raise money:

  • You should receive your welcome pack within days of
    sign-up.
  • Please put your old phones and cartridges into an old cardboard box - NOT in the bin.
  • When your box is full please request a collection or call us on 08451 30 20 50.
  • We'll come and collect your box, and your account will be credited with the money earned. (Make sure your account number is on the box).
  • You can request a payment at any time by logging in to members area of the website.
what to collect
  • Mobile phones have a higher value than printer cartridges, so these will raise the most money. However, cartridges are more plentiful, so collect both!
  • Loads of people have unwanted mobiles in their houses so ask parents and friends of the school to participate.
  • The best way to raise extra funds for your school is to get local businesses to take part in Recycool. We will collect directly from them and allocate all monies raised to your account. We even have letters and posters to help you sign up supporting businesses.
  • Laser and inkjet cartridges are found in printers, fax machines and desktop copiers- so if anyone you know works in an office or has a home computer, ask for their used cartridges!

The vast majority of mobile phones, PDAs and cartridges will generate cash, but there are some which don't have a value.
