Please follow the guidelines below to ensure you get the most out of Recycool.

Please note products and prices may vary. Prices are determined at the time goods are processed. Please ensure all SIM cards and customer data are removed from mobile phones before returning them to Recycling Appeal. We will not be responsible for any loss incurred in the event of SIM cards or customer data not being removed from handsets.

1. Collections

1.1 The balance on your account must be over £30 before payment can be issued.

1.2 All packages included in a single collection must be labelled with your account number and collection address.

1.3 We advise you to include a completed packing sheet with your goods and retain a copy for your records.

1.4 The value of your goods will be credited to your account within four to six weeks of the collection date.

Note – we do not accept:
   • Broken or damaged product
   • Toner bottles
   • Ribbon cartridges
   • Epson inkjet cartridges
   • Canon Ink-tanks
   • Mobile phone cases and chargers
   • Pagers
   • Other electronic equipment

Packing & Collection Instructions

Once you have gathered your goods and they are ready for collection, please follow these simple steps:

2. Packing Sheet

2.1 To help verify your goods we recommend you complete a packing sheet and enclose it with your collection packages. It is also advised to retain a copy for your records. You can download a packing sheet here.

3. Packing

3.1 Recycool encourages you to reuse old boxes when packing your goods for collection.

3.2 Recycool can provide you with collection boxes if required. The cost of these is as follows:

1 box - £7
3 boxes - £11

3.3 Packages can contain any combination of inkjet cartridges, laser cartridges, mobile phones and PDA’s.

3.4 Please ensure all products are packaged securely and carefully as we do not offer compensation for products that are broken or damaged.

3.5 The following tips will help you get the best from your collection:

   • If possible, pack your toners in their original boxes. If you remove the inner packaging, two toners should fit in each box.
   • If you have multiple toner boxes, please tape them together securely. For Recycool, we will accept packages of up to six toner boxes (stacked two wide and three high)
   • Cartridges, mobile phones and PDA’s can also be packed in cardboard boxes. Please ensure these are securely sealed.
   • A Recycool collection can pick up as many as eight packages where each package weighs no more than 20 kilograms. If you have more than eight packages for collection, please contact us on 08451 30 20 50 or email info@recycool.org

4. Account Activity

4.1 If your account has not been logged into or had a collection within a 3 year(36 months) period it will be designated inactive and closed. Once closed we will be unable to retrieve any information or payments associated with this account. Please ensure your account is kept active.

4.2 Please keep your username and password confidential. Recycool recommend changing your password every three months and take no responsibility for the security of your account. Please check your password and account history regularly.

5. Request a collection

5.1 To arrange a collection please login to the members area and select 'Request Collection' from the menu. This will also allow you to keep a history of your requests.

5.2 Whilst collections usually take place from your chosen address within 48 hours of your request, we are unable to guarantee a specific time of day for your collection. We are also unable to provide weekend and same day collections.

6. Labelling

6.1 When you call to request your collection, we will email you label templates.

6.2 Each package included in your collection must be clearly labelled with:

   • Your account number
   • Collection Address
   • The number of boxes being returned

6.3 Labels containing this information must be attached to each package returned as they will help ensure you receive accurate payment for your collection.

7. CD and DVD Recycling

7.1 Every CD album returned will earn 50p for your school

7.2 All items collected must have their disc, original artwork and case.

7.3 We cannot pay for the following:

  • CD singles or EP’s
  • Promotional CD’s (ones given away free in newspapers or magazines)
  • Copies or fakes
  • Items without a barcode
  • Items marked not for resale
  • Items with missing artwork, cases or discs
  • Discs which are badly damaged
  • More than four or any one item per 250 collected.

7.4 We can arrange a free collection when you have 100 CD’s or more.

7.5 Alternatively we can collect a smaller amount when they are picked up as part of your printer cartridge and mobile phone collection.

7.6 We reserve the right to reject any items that are beyond repair, incomplete or do not meet our terms and conditions.

7.7 We are unable to return any rejected items.

7.8 CDs must be securely packaged and not loose.

7.9 Recycool cannot accept responsibility for items damaged in transit, it is your responsibility to ensure goods are securely sealed before sending them.
